Introduction

It is stated that Rheumatic fever (RF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is the commonest cause of heart disease in 5-30 years of age groups and accounts for 25-40% of all cardiovascular diseases in developing countries. Rheumatic heart disease is the disease of heart valves which occurs after untreated sore throat 21.9 / 1000 children in Pakistan are suffering from this disease. Around one million sufferers of this disease may be living in our country. One hard point about this disease is that it is not curable.

ABOUT US

Rheumatic Heart Disease Awareness Society is working for the prevention of the disease since 2012. The society got registered in 2014. We visit schools and health facility centers of a community and deliver awareness lectures. We distribute pamphlets and paste posters on prominent places of schools/health facility centers.
